So we went to Cali this last week. It was so much fun. We went with our best friends- Brittney, Brent, and Oaklee. We all drove down together in a mini-van. It was a little squishy with the eight of us but we all fit. We left on Saturday (4-11) at 4:00 am!! It was really early but really worth it. We got there around 4:30-5:00 pm Cali time, so we still had lots of time left to do things.

On Sunday, for Easter, we went to the beach at the La Jolla shores. It was really fun. The kids did an Easter egg hunt and the grown-ups played in the waves. When we got back from the beach our hotel didn't have water!! Imagine 8 people
covered in sand and no water, so we did what we had to do and went to the pool. It turned out that the building we were in had no water pressure so they gave us a different room which was much much bigger and nicer for the same price! It made it all worth it. We all got sunburned except Braxton and Peyton. So it was a painful start to an eventful week. That night to keep with the spirit of the Sabbath we went to the San Diego Temple. It is really beautiful. We had a lot of fun taking pictures and feeling the spirit. It's amazing how you can still feel the spirit of the Temple when you are right next to a freeway with cars speeding at 70 mph right next to you!

On Monday, we went to the San Diego Zoo. It was really cool. They have so many animals and the kids loved seeing some of them up close. I wasn't as impressed, with all the hype about it, but it was one of my favorite zoo's.

On Tuesday, we checked out of our hotel in San Diego. We then went to Sea World. It was so exciting to finally see Shamu up close in real life. I have never been to Sea World and I looked like a kid in a candy shop. I almost cried when we watched the Shamu show. It was so awesome! It was a cold day- at least to me. It was overcast and sprinkled a few times but it was still like 65 degrees but with the wind it felt colder. It was still a blast. One of the guys that worked there stopped and asked us where we were from and when we told him Utah he said "Provo or Salt Lake?" As if there are only two cities in Utah. We told him Salt Lake and then he asked Ryan if he was related to Donny Osmond. It was really funny and I'm not sure he will ever live down the name. Afterwards, we checked into our hotel in Anaheim.

On Wednesday, we went to Universal Studios in L.A. I do hate traffic in L.A. It was completely different than I had imagined it. Some of my favorite rides were there. I loved the Water World show and the Simpons ride was really amazing (even though it made me feel sick!). One of my favorites was the Jurassic Park ride. We got to meet a lot of characters. Such as: Curious George, Dora and Diego, Spongebob, Shrek and Fiona, Beetle Juice, etc. The kids really loved meeting some of their favorites. On the way back we got stuck in traffic after a terrible accident. I've never seen anyone get out of their car and lean against the hood for a smoke break before. I thought that only happened in movies.

On Thursday, we went to Disneyland. The anticipation was finally over for all of us. I have been to Disneyland before but didn't really remember much. I am so glad that they started doing the fast passes. It made it so we could do everything we really wanted to do in one day. I learned that Ryan is a Disneyland Nazi. He had a plan in his head and if we get behind schedule he gets a little uptight, but it was worth it since we were able to do everything! I absolutely loved Disneyland and want to go back soon.

On Friday, we went to California Adventure. It was really cool. We loved the Pixar parade. Braxton and my favorite ride was the "Mr. Potato Head" Toy Story ride. I absolutely loved it. After it closed at like 9:00 we went back over to Disneyland for some late night rides.

On Saturday, we did Disneyland and California Adventure. We just did the rides that we wanted to do again. We also did a lot of shopping and oddly some of the people that worked there seemed annoyed that we were buying so much!! We had decided to get some of Braxton and Oaklee's birthday presents there, so we did end up with a lot.

On Sunday, we just checked out and drove home. We didn't get home until 1:00 and we still had to unload the van.

It was so so much fun and I am so grateful to have friends that were willing to put up with my kids for so long. We couldn't have done it without them. Well if you made it this far...thanks for reading my novel!
