Random funny pictures and Fathers Day!

The other day I asked Chloe to go and get dressed. This is how she returned.

Quite confused as to where she went wrong. It was really funny to watch her try to figure it out.

She immediately reminded me of her cousin Emily who sometimes likes to wear her shirts as skirts.
Ryan opening his Father's Day presents Saturday night. He had to open them early because he had meetings really early in the morning on Sunday and some after church. So I had the kids give him their gifts on Saturday.

He got a new white shirt, a Yankee tie and some Yankee cufflinks. (All of which was very needed for his new calling. Alright, so it didn't have to have cufflinks but that made it more fun.)

You spend every day teaching your kids when they are little to share, and the only time they do is when they shouldn't. As you can see, Peyton was given a cookie by one of her older siblings. Braxton came to tell me that Peyton was messy and I needed to come see. This is how I found her. Dragging it all around the house as she crawled. The carpet was also a pretty shade of oreo black. Not quite what we were going for, but it'll do. Thank goodness for carpet cleaners.

I'm loving the beard and mustache but really, it doesn't look good on girls.

I had a really hard time getting a picture of her with her eyes open so I thought I would post one of the many that I took with her blinking. Apparently she takes after her Uncle Brent! :)

Celebrating 7 years!

To celebrate our anniversary, we went to Las Vegas. (Thanks to Brittney, Brent, and my parents for watching our kids.) It was so much fun to get away. I enjoyed not having children with me for once.

We stayed in the Luxor. We have never been there before so it was fun and different.

We walked the strip, the first night, there were so many crazy drunks there. I think it's funny what people will wear in Vegas. I think they just think anything goes and it's kinda funny to see what they come up with.

Ryan posing in front of Donny and Marie.

Apparently, the lions didn't get full after eating Roy....or was it Siegfried.

We had dinner at the ESPN Zone. It was my first time there. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was delish. I don't recommend going on game night like we did. We waited forever!

It was really hot there. I loved it!! I wish I could have brought the weather back with me. It was nice to go to the pool and just relax and not stress about the kids. I could have gotten used to that.

Ryan took me to the "old strip" for my first time. While we were there I played my first real game of roulette. It was fun. I only lost $2 over a 45 minute period. I expected to lose my $20 bucks, so I was proud to walk away only $2 down. Ryan and I look at gambling as you would a video game. We only put money down that we plan on losing. I think of it as going to nickelcade. You put money in the machine to play, knowing that you will leave without that money.

We saw this Dodge Ram for sale in front of the Hard Rock hotel. It was so huge. It could have ran me over without ever knowing it. Of course we stayed out late every night. I loved being up late and having things to do.

It was nice to come home and be able to look down again and most of all I really enjoyed being able to take a deep breath.

Lessons learned???

(Yes, Chloe is exploring her nose and Braxton the ground under his feet.)

Well, this morning shortly after Ryan left to go play golf (yes, I did not get to go, bummer.), I heard Braxton yelling from the bathroom. Reluctant to wipe his butt, as this is not my favorite time of day, I slowly walked down to help him.

On my way down the stairs, I found a wonderful drawing, again on the wall, from Chloe's popcicle. She sure is artistic. I take away the crayons and she uses her popcicles.

This is the drippings from her popcicle drawing while she sat on the stairs. She does like pink, maybe she just wanted my carpet and walls to be pink.

Well, once I get to Braxton and his stinking butt, I realize that his hands are disgusting. No, it's not poop. So, I think what could that be. After asking him, several times, he tells me its dirt. Okay, I believe that, except that only part of the stuff on his hands is dirt. The other looks like dirt, only almost white. At that point I'm getting a little angry, considering to get the dirt, he had to of gone outside. I can't ever hear the sliding glass door open, so there was no way of me knowing when I am upstairs. But, I am still perplexed as to what is all over his hands and upon further inspection, also in his hair. Finally he tells me that Chloe put it on his hands. Interesting how she can do things. Do I really look that dumb or is he just not smart enough to understand that moms know?? He told me (all of this, while still on the potty) that he built me a sandcastle. I'm must really be confused. We live in clay country. There is no such thing as sand around here unless purchased. I know he loved the beach, but I'm really sure that we left it in California.

The children, (except Peyton) played in the Country Time Lemonade AGAIN!!!! (If you didn't see my post about that in March, then you need to know- it's not the first time.) After helping Brax on the potty, I walked into the kitchen to go OUTSIDE to see the sandcastle he made me. That is when I found this....

See the scoop? Underneath is my sandcastle. Lucky me he forgot to add water, so it didn't stick together, darn-it!!

Look at how they drew with their fingers in it. So brilliant. I'm telling you, we have the next Picasso.

Beautiful right? I kept my cool, since the alternative is well, you know. I proudly got my camera and took some pictures, because again, I can't keep their artwork forever when they don't use a canvas. After which I threw them both in the shower and got to work cleaning. I thought we were finally getting rid of all the sticky from before but I guess the kids weren't comfortable with my non-stick floors. I was really starting to look forward to summer so that they could destroy the backyard instead of my house, but with "monsoon season" this last week, we have stayed inside, making their path of destruction- my house!! Well, I hope you have enjoyed my childrens wonderful and inspiring pictures of their artwork. Until the next time they set off to destroy....

Chloe's art skills and the pool!

This last week we went to pool 3 times. It was so much fun. I loved just watching the kids play and enjoy themselves.
Peyton does NOT enjoy water so, I either leave her at home and bring the baby moniter over while she takes her nap or she comes and just watches the kids from the comfort of her stroller.

I'm finally able to just let them play and I don't have to be in there with them which lets me do what I love to do and tan. I LOVE to sun bathe.

This morning, I found Chloe playing in the toilet with some of her crayons. (It's not unusual for her to play in toilet water.) After telling her so nicely that we don't play in the toilet (again) and that we don't play with crayons unless mommy says so, Braxton came running in to tell me that she had been drawing. Wanting to see her most recent artwork, I went with him to see. Lucky me, I got to see first hand her most recent destructive artwork. She is quite talented! She can ruin anything if you look away for only a moment. Its just such a shame that I can't keep it forever, or even a day. The only thing I have to show her when she gets older are all the pictures of it. If only she'd use paper once in a while....
I know it's hard to see, but I'm sure you get the point. Lovely circles. Where did I put my star stickers. With a drawing like this I should give her a star for creativeness. Maybe not, I guess most kids use their walls as a canvas.
Her beautiful blue lines.

Loving the red. She kept pointing to it and telling me "pink, pink." Sorry Love, it's red.
Here she is so, SO proud of her masterpiece. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go find that magic eraser.....
