Poor sweet Chloe

Last night, just like every other Sunday, we went to my parents house. I love going over there. They are so helpful with the kids especially when Ryan is still in his church meetings. Last night ended a little on the bad side though. While walking out the door to go home, Braxton took a ball away from Chloe. Instinctively, Ryan reached to grab the ball from Braxton so he could give it back to Chloe. Well, in doing so, Ryans laptop bag swung around and smacked Chloe in the back, pushing her down the 3 cement stairs. She did a couple of rolls before stopping. I was at the car putting Peyton in, when I heard Ryan ALMOST swear. I knew something had happened, but by the time I looked up to see she just looked like she tripped while walking, as usual. So I hurried and buckled Peyton up to go give Chloe a hug. A kiss usually fixes everything with her, so I thought I could fix it. Oh how wrong I was. Poor sweet Chloe has a huge goose egg just above her eye. I panicked and almost took her in to the doctor. It had started to swell so fast and was immediately black and blue. I knew she was bleeding under her skin. After about 5 minutes she calmed down and I called the doctor to ask what he thought I should do. He told me because she didn't lose consciousness and she could still open her eye, not to worry unless she starts throwing up. Luckily, that still hasn't happened. Ryan feels so bad. When asked how she fell, Chloe responds with, "Daddy, push me." Poor guy, he was just trying to avoid a fight between the kids. Chloe's eye still looks bad. The goose egg is gone but the blood has settled in her eyelid. She has a hard time opening her left eye. It's so sad to even look at her. It almost hurts just to see her. Well, it may be the first time, but knowing kids, it won't be her last injury.

Cake Auction

Yesterday was our wards annual Scout spaghetti dinner and cake auction. I have always loved this activity. It amazes me the amount of cash-money people will spend on a cake. This year, with our new hobby, we decided to make a cake for the auction. We had a hard time deciding what to make. We had wanted to do a Yankee cake or a Ute cake that after you cut into it was completely BYU or just a BYU cake. But we didn't want it to only appeal to a group of people. We decided it to be a good idea to make a cake everyone would like. So we decided to make the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.

The Temple is much more complex than one would think. After looking at it and taking a million pictures of it we decided to simplify it so that it could be made into a cake.
It proved to be one of our most difficult cakes yet. However, we have only made about 5 cakes, so that doesn't say much.

It sold for a mere $45. It does actually taste good. I hope they enjoy our masterpiece.

It only took about 3 days or 14 hours. It was fun. Not sure I'll make a cool cake next year. The ones that sound or look the most delish went for the most cash-money. We'll see when it gets here.

On another note, Peyton LOVES shoes. She is definitely just like her sister and takes after her mommy. However, she is a little confused as to where they go.

She loves to wear them on her hands and crawl around the house with everyone's shoes on. She also is very good at putting flip-flops on. She puts them in between her fingers and everything. Smart little girl.

Thanksgiving Point

We went to Thanksgiving Point this last Tuesday for Two-Buck-Tuesday. It was a lot of fun. We went with my sister-in-law Brittney and her sweet little one Oaklee. I love spending time with Brittney. We just live so far apart that we have to make an extra effort to see each other. It's always worth the drive and we can't wait to spend time with each other again. We went to the children's gardens since we have never done that.


So, we were not prepared for the kids to get wet. Which of course, is all they wanted to do the second we walked in. I dressed my kids so I could take some cute pictures of them, and ....they played in the water.

Chloe was wearing pants so I took them off so she could run around in the water.

Apparently it was bright outside since Braxton couldn't keep his eyes open.

Peyton had probably eaten several of the flowers I sat her by. It was funny. Silly girl, flowers are for bee's.

We ended the last stretch with Peyton doing this. Instead of being the loving mom that I should be, I took pictures.


After Thanksgiving Point, we went to Taco Tuesday at the Del Taco. It was fun. The kids like to play there too so that helps.

When we got home that afternoon, Ryan took this picture of both of the girls passed out together on the floor. We wore them out. I don't know about Oaklee, but I know my kids were exhausted. Which means we had a great day. I look forward to Chaos Tuesday next week.....

Oaklee's Birthday Cake

A little over a week ago, (I know, I'm a slacker blogger) Oaklee had her 4th birthday party. Ryan and I, (well, mostly Ryan) made her birthday cake. We have found that we love decorating cakes. It's just another project that we like to take on. We enjoy watching it go from just a normal cake to a masterpiece. Oaklee wanted a Tinkerbell cake, which proved to be more difficult than expected. We tried using gum paste to make Tink and found we don't actually like gum paste. At least we know for next time. Anyways we hope you enjoy the pictures.

Chloe and I were watching the Discovery Channel yesterday, and it's shark week so the show we were watching was about sharks. I asked her while making dinner about sharks and thought it was cute, so I decided to post it.
