5k Run and Pumpkin Carving

We have done a lot this last week. On Saturday morning, (I still refuse to talk about that evening) Jaclyn, Brittney and I ran our first race with many more to come. It was the BYU Homecoming race. It was lots of fun and challenging. It all started with about a mile climb up a large hill, after that it was mostly down hill which was nice. We all finished and had pretty good times. Next year we plan on running more 5k's, 10k's and a few half marathons.

Last night we had a blast carving pumpkins. It took some time to start, knowing they were muddy and covered with a fresh coat of snow. Also, our printer had ran out of ink, so we had to be a little creative to get our designs on the pumpkins. The kids loved digging the seeds out and getting all slimy. The other thing we could not find was some of our wood carving tools, so I ended up using a screwdriver to carve out the spiderman. I think we finished sometime around midnight. It was just a blast.

Peyton can....dance??

So this morning as I was doing my hair, jamming out to some good tunes, I caught Peyton
"dancing"
It was so cute. I was able to get just a bit of her dancing. Every time she saw the camera, she just wanted the camera. And then she
sees the comb on the counter and ceases to dance as she realizes that she just found the most intriguing thing of the morning. But enjoy the shortest video of her new moves....

Another BIG Birthday!!

On Tuesday, Ryan turned the big THREE-OH! I like to tease that he is old. I'm not sure he thinks it's as amusing as I do. I had big plans of doing some geocaching (it's like a scavenger hunt for grown-ups) for his birthday but I had a hard time getting my hands on someone's GPS. We finally got one Monday night, however, I wasn't able to hide all the things I wanted to for him. We still went and found several geocache's on our way to Brittney's house for his party. It was so fun. Our first official one! The first one I found. We found about 10 or so. They are hidden EVERYWHERE. The kids helped us find one at the Draper Temple.
When we got to his sisters house we ate pizza, sung happy birthday to him, had some cake, and opened presents. His cake was made for him by our awesome Bishops wife. She is so amazing and we are so thankful we didn't have to make our own cake. (Thanks Brooke!) Peyton kept crawling up on the kids table since she knew there was cake up there and Oaks was happy to feed her. It was cute!It was delish, made from Reese's peanut butter cups. I hid his present in the blue balloon.

Brittney then had to go to mutual, and we watched some baseball while she was gone. While we were watching baseball we realized that Oaks and Chloe were being really quiet. So we went downstairs to check on them and they had made the biggest mess. I know it was Chloe who instigated it (she loves to dump things!). But Oaklee was happy to help clean up.Thank you to everyone for everything they did and the birthday wishes. I know he appreciates it.
